where will my session be held?

Hampton Roads area offers many beautiful photography locations, all featuring different views, scenery and ‘vibes’. Ultimately the choice of location is up to you and I always encourage my clients to choose a location that has meaning to them. I also have a list of places I’d highly recommend for the best light and fantastic backdrops!

but what if it rains?

Not to worry! If the forecast is showing rain a few days before your session, we will reschedule at no additional cost to you. Rescheduling dates are based on calendar availability at the time of rescheduling, and may or not be in get same “season” as the originally scheduled date (this is particularly of interest if you’re in search of spring blossoms or fall foliage)

how much does it cosT?

How much you invest in your session depends on what you’d like to do with your final images. A non-refundable session retainer of $350 is required to officially book your date. After that, prints, products and digital files are purchased separately at your reveal and ordering appointment, 2 weeks after your session.

Clients typically invest anywhere from $500-$2000 in finished products and digital files, however there is NO minimum order and you only buy what you love. For a more in-depth look at what a portrait experience includes, please contact me.

what do I wear?

As part of the complimentary pre-consultation and design session we will discuss "everything wardrobe". Together we’ll consider the style you’re going for in your portraits and take a look at different outfit options for each family member. We'll choose a colour palette that will not only go well with the location, but also match the style of your house where your portraits will hang.

i don't feel confident in front of a camera. how will i know how to pose?

Don’t worry! Most of my clients have never been in front of a camera before, or at least not for a very long time! I will walk you through literally every step, and am happy to offer as much (or as little!) guidance as you like. Prepare for lots of laughing, dancing & having fun! Through my easy going personality and few simple posing tips you’ll soon feel like a natural in front of the camera!

do you provide professional hair and makeup?

This is not a service I currently offer, however I can recommend you to some wonderful hair & make-up artists in the area & I’d be happy to do so. I’d highly recommend investing in professional hair and makeup for your session, especially if you’re a senior. If you do invest in getting your hair and makeup professionally done for your session, bring your receipt with you and I’ll be happy to offer you a $100 print credit towards your final images.

Two weeks after the session we will do an in-home reveal and ordering appointment where you get to see your images for the first time put to music! This is where you will make the final decision about what images to purchase and where you want to display them in your home.
